My Hobbies and Interests
Singing in a choir since age 14, I continue to enjoy it and am a member of 2 groups. In the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Choir my job is to sing harmonies and cantor. I end up cantoring at church every other weekend and enjoy singing for special occasions such as Christmas, Easter, and various jubilees. Our organist/choir director is an amazing lady who even writes her own music.

I also sing in the
William Penn Community Chorus - a community based group that sings for nursing homes and various community functions. There I am assigned the tenor part this year although my voice of favor is alto. But since we've lost all the men in our group...well, SOMEBODY has to sing tenor! If you are in a choir you should know that the altos have the most fun! Of course, that means we get into the most trouble, too!

The best thing about the WPCC is that we are a family and support each other through thick and thin. Our director of umpteen years recently died and one of our alto-tenor group was asked to take over the reins. Although we really miss her voice, she has risen to be quite a good leader of our little group. In fact, we have grown since she's taken over. As a thank you for our hard work last year, Sue surprised us on the last concert and hired a limo for the evening to take us out in style.  Below are a couple pictures of the people in the William Penn Community Chorus.

Inside the 18 passenger limo. Karen is in the back center and I am to her left. Later on in the evening, Karen had a severe athsma attack brought on by laughing hysterically at a joke from the GBS Chatroom. We had to go to the pharmacy in the limo to get her meds! It was an experience!
Karen is the mascot of the group since she's been attending rehearsals since she was 2 weeks old.
Every once in a while the sewing bug hits me. Usually it's out of necessity lately. Check out the Renaissance gown I made for Karen's ninth grade Renaissance Day at school and the kilt I crafted for Marcus and Danni's Handfasting. Click next to see.
In December, the WPCC was asked to sing at the Yeadon Borough Hall for the Christmas festivities. Here is Sue directing our little group.
A wonderful night where Vic played Santa and all kinds of community groups performed, including the Penn Wood High School Saxophone Choir and PWHS Chorus.

I am the last one on the right.
