I first met Mike at the 2005 Big Muddy Folk Festival in Boonville, Missouri. Two years later, he played at my venue, The Back Room of the Barton County Arts Center in Great Bend, Kansas. Mike operates a venue in Morristown, New Jersey called The Minstrel. For a venue 1426 miles from home, I've attended quite a few shows there including shows by Small Potatoes (11/28/2008) and Cindy Mangsen & Steve Gillette (3/27/2009).
