Bluestem

The band Bluestem from the Lawrence, KS area venture out to western Kansas to make their debut on Saturday and Sunday at Pickin' on the Plains this year. This delightful quintet (that includes "Woody" the Wonder Bass) has performed at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS for 10 of the last 12 years; they have also been the house band for "The Good Time Radio Review", a live radio show on National Public Radio since 1986. They take the audience back to yesterday with their beautiful western cowboy harmonies and rock and gospel tunes. In addition to a humerous show with cowboy poetry, they're sure to have the dandiest slickers, hats and boots this side of the Mississippi!
