About Froggy Mountain …
For over twenty years, those at Froggy Mountain Campground were my neighbors, and good neighbors at that. Back in the late 1970's and early 1980's, the camp was located quite a distance southeast of the the location shown for 2002. It was up the hill near the current location of the Bat Camp. As the campground has become more full each year, the location of this camp has crept northwest toward the US-160 bridge. In 2002, they were almost squeezed out entirely.
Folksinging is at the heart of this group of campers. When he's not back home in El Dorado, Don Koke exercises a leadership role in this camp. At El Dorado, he operates the local folk venue, The Iron Horse, as well as teaching at Butler County Community College.
