Trip to the Airport
Most travel photos focus on the exceptional rather than the typical. On the 15-minute ride from Cable Beach back to the airport, I found myself in a seat with a good view through a big and clean windshield, so I took a series of photos that, to me, captured the essence of what I saw on the island. Quite noticeable is the fact that Bahamians drive on the left, as in England, although most of the cars are American and have the steering wheel on that side. Even as a pedestrian, I found I had some mental adjustment to do. The convention even applies to escalators, where the left side goes up and the right side comes down.
